Toronto Hoarding Cleanup ("we", "us" or "our") provides hoarding cleanup, biohazard and trauma remediation, estate cleanouts and related services in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. Discretion is central to our work, and that includes how we handle your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and do the work you ask for:
- Contact details you give us, such as your name, phone number and the city or neighbourhood of the property
- Information about the service you need and anything you choose to share in a message
- Your confirmation that you are the homeowner, property manager, executor or family representative
- Property details and photos taken during an assessment or job, used for your scope and documentation
- Records you ask us to prepare, such as insurance documents, compliance letters and disposal manifests
- Basic website data, such as pages visited and the page a form was sent from, collected through cookies and similar tools
2. How We Use Your Information
- To reply to your call, text or message and book an assessment
- To prepare your written scope, quote and schedule
- To complete the work and produce the documentation you request
- To coordinate with people you authorize, such as an insurance adjuster, property manager, estate lawyer or inspector
- To meet legal duties, such as keeping biohazard waste manifests and business records
- To improve our website and services
We do not use your information for marketing unless you clearly agree to it, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
3. Photos and Property Information
Photos taken in your home are used only for your scope, your documentation and, where you authorize it, your insurer, landlord, executor or inspector. We never publish photos of anyone's belongings or living conditions, and we never use them in advertising.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With people or organizations you authorize, such as an adjuster, property manager or estate lawyer
- With service providers who help us operate, such as our form-handling provider, licensed waste carriers and trades we coordinate for your job
- When required by law, for example by a court order or a regulator
We never contact family members, landlords, employers or anyone else about you unless you ask us to.
5. Contact Forms
Our website forms are processed by a lead-capture service that forwards your message to us. It records the page you sent the form from so we know what you were reading. Spam protection fields are used to filter automated submissions.
6. Cookies and Analytics
We may use cookies and analytics tools to understand how visitors use our website. These do not identify you by name. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Some parts of the site may not work as well without them.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We keep job records, including scopes, invoices and disposal manifests, for as long as needed for legal, tax and insurance purposes, and then securely destroy them. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after a reasonable period.
8. Security
We use reasonable physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect your information against loss, theft and unauthorized access. Paper records collected during cleanouts that you ask us to destroy are securely shredded.
9. Your Rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Withdraw consent to optional uses, such as marketing
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep by law
10. Contact Us
If you have questions about this policy or your information, call us at (416) 900-4982 or send a message. Our office is in Toronto, ON.
